Have you ever realized that all around you are signs of God’s specific love for you? Have you ever considered that each and every particular little think that causes you joy was placed within you by an adoring Father with the implicit purpose of creating a special happiness in your life? If you’re having trouble connecting with God on a personal basis perhaps try looking around. You might be pleasantly surprised by what you see.
Yesterday I was taking a walk in my neighborhood with my daughters. We had gone down towards the water’s edge of a nearby pond, and I enjoyed the sound of the water lapping against the rocks interspersed with the laughter of my happy girls. They didn’t miss much and found joy in finding treasures along the pond’s periphery. As I watched them scurry about in discovery mode I too scanned the surrounding area, and as I looked around my eyes fell upon some clover growing along the edge of the woods. I had seen plenty of clover in my time, but this particular bouquet leaped out at me. It was the most beautiful mix of purple, pink, and lavender I had seen in some time. As I stared transfixed with delight I felt my Heavenly Father speak to my heart.
That’s for you. Every time you see the color purple, it’s for you.
I smiled at the thought of a creator who was in my heart, but also all around me. His hand was the beam of sunlight that tickled and reflected the water. His kiss was the cool breeze that blew against my face on a warm day. His handiwork was the brilliant sunset that accosted my vision when I drove home after a long day, and the beautiful way the colors played across the horizon was like a sonnet written just for me. God created a beautiful world for the creations He loved best, the sons and daughters made in His own image. You.
When we feel as if we cannot connect to God in a real, tangible way perhaps the best bet is to open our eyes and hearts to His gifts. Your favorite color, favorite sound, sight, or even smell are all special, significant interests He built into your DNA to make you who you are, and He delights in nothing better than giving you those things that He created you to love.
The color purple has always been my favorite, and each time I see it splashed across this earth with an artistic flair I know my Father opened my eyes to receive it as a special God-wink just for me. He loves me like that.

I too am awed by God’s creation! I saw a clip the other day of a young boy that received a special pair of glasses that has been invented so color blind people can now experience what so many of us take for granted, color! Tears ran down his face when he first put them on while sitting outside! The depth of God’s creation here on earth just makes my mind explode at how heaven must be! Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, nor has it entered into the hearts of man what God has prepared for those who love Him! I should of been a scientist as seeing the complexity of His creation just blows me away as it should anyone who studies this stuff! I was pleased to visit and meet Dr. Carl Baugh at the Creation Evidence Museum which he founded in Glen Rose, Texas! Not that we who walk by faith need any evidence but this man along with others have discovered so much that just literally says God did this! He speaks to each of us through His handiwork just as He breathed upon you & winked at you with the color purple! I too am pleased that I hear His voice in the sound of a baby, the song of a bird and the list could go on! Thank you Lord for the beautiful and gentle way You whisper “I love you like that” as you so beautifully wrote Brie!

I too love the color purple. I could definitely relate to your post. I am also a wife, mom, and blogger. Most importantly, I am a lover of Jesus and daughter of the one true king. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
